This prestigious recognition highlights achievements in advocating for the rights and well-being of older adults affected by financial exploitation, preventing financial exploitation of older adults, and advancing policies and practices that protect older adults from financial exploitation.

Eligibility: The TEJC Recognition for Achievement is open to the following individuals or organizations in Texas:

FTC Warning: Spot Romance Scams

If you suspect a romance scam:

Talk to someone you trust. Do your friends or family say they’re concerned about your new love interest?
Search online for the type of job the person has plus the word “scammer.” Have other people posted similar stories?
Do a reverse image search of the person’s profile picture. Is it associated with another name or with details that don’t match up?

Texas Elder Justice Coalition Newsletter January 2025

The Texas Elder Justice Coalition (TEJC) is seeking volunteers for several committees for 2025. The committees include:

Resources/Fundraising
Meetings are held monthly for 30-60 minutes, and no prior experience is necessary. If interested, contact dhoffman@guardianshipservices.org by February 14, 2025.
TEJC’s upcoming events include:
2025 TEJC Summit on June 10, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX, featuring sessions on financial exploitation, prevention, and legal action. Early bird registration ends February 28, 2025.
Monthly Webinars and Meetings on elder justice topics, including financial exploitation, with a focus on protecting older adults.
