Abuse in Texas

If you suspect financial abuse of an older adult in Texas.

Step 1

Report all instances to your local police.

Step 2

Abuse in a Nursing Home

If you suspect elder financial fraud of an older adult in a nursing home, assisted living facility, day activity and health services, home health, hospice agency or intermediate care facility in Texas.

Step 1

Report all instances to your local police.

Call 800-458-9858 to report suspected abuse to Texas Health and Human Services.

Abuse with Long-Term Care

If you suspect elder financial fraud of an older adult in a long-term care facility that receives Medicaid funding in Texas.

Step 1

Report all instances to your local police.

Step 2

Report all instances of any type of elder abuse, including financial exploitation, to Texas Adult Protective Services:

Call 800-252-8011 to report all instances to the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Abuse with Fraudulent Activity

If someone is using an older adult’s information to open new accounts or make purchases in Texas.
